We are seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney for a temporary assignment to support a busy immigration practice. The attorney will manage a caseload of employment-based and/or family-based immigration matters, provide legal counsel to clients, prepare and review immigration petitions, and ensure compliance with applicable immigration laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employment-based and family-based immigration matters.
- Prepare, review, and file a variety of immigration petitions and applications, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-2, PERM, I-140, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Naturalization, and family-based petitions.
- Conduct legal research and provide guidance on complex immigration issues.
- Advise clients regarding immigration strategies, eligibility requirements, and compliance obligations.
- Draft legal memoranda, support letters, Requests for Evidence (RFE) responses, motions, and appeals.
- Review documentation and supporting evidence for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate directly with clients, government agencies, and foreign nationals regarding case matters.
- Stay current on changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and support staff to ensure timely case processing.
- Meet filing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with any U.S. State Bar.
- Minimum 3+ years of immigration law experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience handling employment-based and/or family-based immigration matters.
- Strong understanding of USCIS, Department of Labor (DOL), Department of State (DOS), and related immigration processes.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and client-service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and immigration case management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience responding to RFEs, NOIDs, and complex immigration matters.
- Business immigration experience, including PERM labor certifications and nonimmigrant visa petitions.
- Prior experience working in a high-volume immigration practice.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred but not required).
